Biography
David Sanctis enters his senior season at Wingate after a solid junior season in 2008 that included five top-ten finishes. Sanctis had third-place finishes at the Greensboro Cross-Country Invitational, finishing the 8K race in 27:51, and at the WU Pre-Conference 5K, where he ran a 16:51.
The Charlotte, N.C. native saw action in seven races during the 2007 season, running as the Bulldogs’ number two runner for most of the year. Sanctis finished the SAC championships in 14th place with a time of 27:11.
Sanctis ran his best 8K time of 2006 at the Queens University Invitational (28:45). His best 10K time was 38:36 at the Wingate Invitaitonal.
David Sanctis was a two year letterman in both cross country and track at South Mecklenburg High. David was anointed the title of best first year runner his junior season at South Mecklenburg. Sanctis would then finish his high school running career as an All-Conference selection after placing 61st in the NC4A State Meet, en route to being named the team’s Most Improved runner after his senior season. David achieved many academic accolades at South Mecklenburg as a member of the National Honor Society, the Beta Club, and graduated with a 4.0 GPA. David is the son of Thomas and Teresa Sanctis.
