2010: Brittany Blankenship went 19-8 with a 1.39 ERA in her junior season at Wingate. She appeared in 31 games, starting 27 times while notching 138 strikeouts in 186.1 innings of work. The first team all-conference selection led the SAC in innings pitched, ranked second in starts, third in ERA and complete games, fourth in strikeouts and opponents’ batting average and sixth in shutouts. She allowed two earned runs or fewer in 33 of her 37 appearances, allowing zero or one earned run 23 times. Blankenship notched a three-hit shut against Mount Olive. She struck out a season-high 10 while picking up a win against Limestone. She shutout Armstrong Atlantic State in game one, while pitching 2.2 innings of perfect relief in the second game. Blankenship followed that with a three-hit shutout at Lander. She also had a three-hit shutout at UNC Pembroke, striking out five without walking a batter.

2009: Blankenship was a first team all-conference and second team all-region selection in her sophomore year with the Bulldogs. She went 18-7 on the year with a 2.45 ERA and 90 strikeouts in 160 innings of work. She tied for first in the league with her 18 wins, while ranking third in innings pitched, seventh in ERA and ninth in strikeouts. Blankenship racked up 10 of her wins in conference play. She struck out at least four batters 11 times. She tossed a four-hit shutout against Tusculum. Blankenship picked up both wins in the doubleheader at Lenoir-Rhyne, allowing three runs in 13 innings while striking out 10. She also got both wins against Catawba, giving up one run on six hits in 10.2 innings of work. Blankenship shutout Newberry, allowing only one hit while striking out three. She went the distance in game one against Carson-Newman as Wingate clinched the regular season SAC title.

2008: Blankenship finished her freshman season with a 20-11 record and a 1.70 ERA. She was a 2nd team All-SAC selection and a 2nd team All-Region member. Blankenship was named to the All-SAC Tournament team and was named the 2008 team MVP. She was also named SAC pitcher of the Week three times during the year. Blankenship pitched 210.0 innings in 2008, which places her fourth all-time in the Wingate record books for innings pitched in a single season. She led the SAC with 13 shutouts while ranking second in the conference in complete games, third in wins, and fourth in ERA and strikeouts.

PERSONAL: Blankenship was the team captain and two-time team MVP at Midlothian High School. She was an all-district, all-region, all-conference and all-state performer. Blankenship was named the region’s Pitcher of the Year in her junior and senior season. She led the team to three district titles, while topping the team charts in ERA and doubles. Born on December 2, 1988, Brittany is the daughter of Powell and Crystal Blankenship.
