Biography

2009: Jessica Bowen appeared in 36 games during her freshman year with the Bulldogs, with 35 starts. She hit .204 with 13 RBI, 11 runs scored and four extra-base hits on the year. Bowen was two-for-three with a double, triple, RBI and two runs scored against Coker. She was two-for-four with a double and three RBI against Limestone. 


PERSONAL: Bowen was a three-year softball letter-winner at Butler High School in Matthews where she won three consecutive NC 4A state titles. As a first and third baseman, Bowen was named all-state after her junior season in which she set a state record for most doubles in a season. Bowen was captain of her Butler Bulldogs' team during her senior season and batted .416 on the year while earning all-conference, all-state and All-Observer honors. Bowen's older sister, Kristen, is the all-time strikeout leader for the Charlotte 49ers (584 career strikeouts).
