2009: LaRonda McClain was a first team all-conference and all-region selection in her junior season with the Bulldogs. She led the team and finished second in the SAC with 65 hits. McClain was third in the league with 41 runs scored and led the league with 27 stolen bases. Her .374 batting average was third on the Wingate team in 2009. McClain had a 21-game hit streak during her junior season. She started the year going four-for-five with two stolen bases and two runs against St. Andrews. McClain had five consecutive multi-hit games in February, while scoring eight runs in the stretch. She was five-for-eight with four runs and four stolen bases in the doubleheader against Mars Hill. McClain was three-for-four with two RBI and three runs scored against Lincoln Memorial.

2008: McClain collected 53 hits in 2008, while batting .344 and scoring 28 runs. The centerfielder from Kings Mountain, N.C. stole 13 bases for the Bulldogs and also knocked in 11 RBI.

2007: McClain earned first team Daktronics All-South Atlantic Regions honors. She was a second team All-SAC member. McClain started games at shortstop, first base, designated player and in right field and centerfield. She was second on the team with a .401 batting average and led the team with a .390 SAC average. McClain added three doubles, 15 RBI, 10 sacrifice hits, 23 multiple-hit games and 23 stolen bases. She also led the team with 42 runs scored.

PERSONAL: McClain was an outfielder for coach Suzanne Grayson at Kings Mountain High School. Kings Mountain won the 2005 and 2006 N.C. softball state championship. McClain was a four-time All-State selection. McClain also lettered in volleyball and basketball. She was honored as the Athlete of the Year as a senior. Off the field, McClain was a three-year Gold Card Holder and a four-time Scholar Athlete. LaRonda is the daughter of John Barnett and Licia McClain. Her aunt (Sheila McClain) graduated from Wingate. She is majoring in Elementary Education.
