Biography
Kara Stasikelis achieved an academic and athletic double-double in 2010, as she was named to the All-South Atlantic Conference team and the ITA Scholar-Athlete squad.
2010: Stasikelis posted an 8-10 overall record playing in the number one singles spot, including a 2-5 record in the SAC. She also played number one doubles, putting up an 11-8 record while playing with Ferguson. The duo compiled a 7-3 record in their last ten regular season matches and posted a 5-2 SAC record.
2009: Stasikelis racked up six singles victories for the Bulldogs, playing number one singles all year. She also picked up seven victories in doubles, with five of those victories coming in number two doubles action. She was an All-SAC performer.
2008: Stasikelis was named to the All-South Atlantic Conference team following a solid first season for the Bulldogs. In 2008, Stasikelis played 23 matches as the number one singles player for Wingate. She earned 10 wins during the 2008 season.
Stasikelis racked up 10 doubles wins during the 2008 season. She picked up a big victory against the University of North Dakota (in Orlando, Fla.), defeating Fighting Sioux number one Katie Callison 6-0, 6-2. The Callison victory started a good stretch for Stasikelis, as she won six of eight singles matches during the middle of the season.
HIGH SCHOOL: Kara Stasikelis was the tennis team’s MVP all four years at J.L. Mann High School. She led her team to regional and state titles her senior year. Kara is the daughter of Peter and Sharon Stasikelis. Kara Stasikelis is a Math major.
