Biography

2008-09: Stacie Rhodes led the Bulldogs in rebounding (5.6 boards per game) and blocked shots (36) during her junior season. She started 17 of Wingate’s 28 contests. Rhodes hit double-digit points five times, posting a season-high 13 markers (on six-of-12 shooting) at Tusculum (Jan. 24). She corralled a season-high 16 rebounds at Clayton State (Nov. 25). Rhodes posted eight points, six blocks and four boards in a 94-88 SAC victory at Brevard (Jan. 17). Rhodes earned a spot on the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District III women’s basketball first team. She has a 4.00 GPA in Accounting.

2007-08: Rhodes
started 16 games for the Bulldogs, averaging 4.6 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. She pulled down a career-high 13 rebounds at Lander, while pulling down 11 boards at Lynn. Rhodes scored 10 points on five-of-seven shooting against Francis Marion. She also had 10 points against Erskine. She had six points, six rebounds a block and a steal at Catawba. Rhodes had seven points and seven rebounds in the home game against Catawba.

2006-07: Rhodes played in 27 games for Wingate during the 2006-07 season and scored 2.3 points per game while pulling down 2.4 rebounds per game. The freshman registered a double-double in her second career collegiate game, scoring 15 points and collecting 13 rebounds in an early-season victory over Queens (N.C.).

HIGH SCHOOL: Rhodes was a letter winner in both basketball and softball at North Raleigh Christian Academy. Rhodes led her team in scoring and rebounding for two seasons, serving as a team captain for both her junior and senior campaigns. She also was an All-Conference performer in her final two seasons as well. In the classroom, Rhodes was on the “A” Honor Roll, a member of the National Honor Society and National Honor Roll. She earned the National Science and Math Merit Award. Stacie is the daughter of David and Tamra Rhodes.

Nickname: Stretch or Big Stace
Something most people don't know about Stacie is that: I used to want to be a cheerleader when I was little...dess up and everything. But I always felt weird because I was so much taller than my little friends that would dress up too.
