Biography

2012: Anna Hilton piled up the awards during her junior season at Wingate, earning SAC Player of the Year honors while also being named a third team All-American by the AVCA. Hilton earned first team All-SAC and All-Region accolades, while also earning All-Tournament honors at the SAC Tournament and the NCAA Southeast Regionals. Hilton was named the SAC Tournament MVP. She was also selected by the AVCA to travel to Costa Rica over the summer to participate in the AVCA/USAAI Costa Rican Volleyball Series. Hilton finished second on the team with 3.03 kills per set, ranking second in the SAC with a .313 hitting percentage. She also finished second on the team with 3.33 digs per set, adding 64 blocks on the year. Hilton had 21 matches with double-digit kills, while registering 13 double-doubles on the year. In her career, Hilton has piled up 875 kills and 764 digs. She is hitting .331 in her career. Hilton hit .400 with 15 kills in the 3-1 win over 15th-ranked Flagler. She piled up 13 kills and 27 digs in the sweep over Queens, while compiling 15 kills, 13 digs and five blocks at Newberry, hitting. 438. Her 17 kills, 14 digs, three blocks and .471 hitting percentage led the 'Dogs past Carson-Newman. She had 15 kills and 15 digs to lead Wingate to a 3-1 win at Tusculum. Hilton capped her regular season with a 16-kill, 19-dig performance in the 3-2 win at LMU and a 14-kill, 21-dig effort at Carson-Newman. Hilton had 12 kills and 18 digs in the SAC Tournament quarterfinal win over Anderson, hitting .364. She had 14 kills and a career-high 37 digs in the SAC title match against Tusculum. Hilton had 10 kills and 10 digs in the regional semifinal victory over Newberry, while registering eight kills and 19 digs in the regional title match against Tusculum, hitting .421. She had 13 kills and nine digs against top-ranked Concordia-St. Paul in the national quarterfinal match.

2011: Anna Hilton earned first team All-SAC and All-Region honors during her second year at Wingate, while also earning honorable mention All-American accolades. Hilton finished third in the SAC with a .303 hitting percentage and seventh with 3.12 kills per set, ranking second on the team with 2.96 digs and 0.74 blocks per set. Hilton had 22 matches with at least 10 kills, while compiling 12 double-doubles. She had 16 kills, 14 digs and a .364 hitting percentage in the win at Carson-Newman, followed by a 17-kill, 10-dig, 8-assist effort at LMU. Hilton followed those performances with 12 kills, 19 digs and five blocks against Tusculum. She hit .423 with 14 kills against Lenoir-Rhyne, while hitting .526 with 10 kills and seven digs against Queens. Hilton’s 16 kills and 15 digs helped Wingate rally for a 3-1 win at Catawba. She hit .588 with 10 kills and eight digs against LMU, while piling up 14 kills and 24 digs at Tusculum. Hilton had 12 kills and 18 digs against Carson-Newman in the SAC Tournament quarterfinals. She had 13 kills, 12 digs and five assists in the championship match. Hilton notched 12 kills and 12 digs in the regional title match.

2010: Hilton earned All-SAC Freshman honors in 2010, averaging 2.16 kills per set while ranking third in the conference with a .327 hitting percentage. Hilton finished second on the team with 0.70 blocks per set in 2010. She piled up a career-high 17 kills with a .625 hitting percentage against Coker. She had 12 kills and 12 digs in the victory over Mars Hill, while notching 11 kills with a .588 hitting percentage the following day at Tusculum. Hilton had 10 kills and four blocks against Newberry while hitting .444. She hit .562 with 10 kills at Carson-Newman. Hilton had 12 kills with a .556 hitting percentage against Lenoir-Rhyne. She had six kills and a career-best six blocks in the regional championship match against Flagler.

2009: Hilton red-shirted in the 2009 season.

High School: A successful two-sport star at Hickory High School, Anna Hilton was named the Female Student-Athlete of the Year. She was the MVP of the volleyball team as well as the basketball team, where she averaged 16 points per game. Hilton was a member of the National Honor Society while also being named the prom queen at Hickory. She played in the Hickory Orchestra which performed at the prestigious Carnegie Hall. Hilton played club volleyball for the Piedmont Volleyball Club as an outside hitter and a middle blocker.

Coach Collier: "Anna is one of the most dynamic, athletic, and influential players to ever play volleyball in the South Atlantic Conference. She is coming off a very strong All-American season, and will once again be counted on as one of our leaders and will certainly be one of the top players in the region. I have never coached a player in my career who has made more improvement in four years as he had done here."
