2014: Ben Currie earned second team All-SAC honors as a senior, while also earning second team All-Region accolades from Daktronics and the ABCA...Went 9-1 with a 3.14 ERA and 73 strikeouts in 80 1/3 innings...Led the SAC with six complete games and four shutouts...The four shutouts set a single season SAC record...Ranked third in the SAC in wins, fourth in strikeouts, sixth in innings pitched and 11th in ERA...Finished his career with 25 victories, throwing 309 2/3 innings in his career, which ranks seventh in SAC history...230 career strikeouts rank 10th in league history...Struck out eight in six innings against Coker, allowing just one run...Tossed a three-hit shutout at Brevard, striking out 10...Started a streak of four consecutive complete games at Mars Hill, tossing a seven-hit shutout with six strikeouts...Followed with a three-hit shutout at Newberry, striking out nine without walking a batter...Allowed a run on three hits in a complete game win against Catawba...Tossed a two-hit shutout against 16th-ranked UNC Pembroke, shutting out one of the nation's most prolific offenses for the first time in 154 games...Capped his career with a complete game win against Erskine, striking out five while allowing just two runs in a 7-2 victory.

2013: Posted a 6-3 record with a 3.84 ERA in 12 starts during his junior season...Tossed a pair of complete games, piling up 65 strikeouts in 79 2/3 innings...Ranked sixth in the SAC in innings pitched, eighth in strikeouts and 12th in ERA...Opened his season with six shutout innings at Erskine, allowing just two hits...Struck out 11 at Catawba, allowing just one run in seven innings...Tossed a complete game five-hit shutout at Brevard, striking out seven...Struck out eight in seven innings at Mars Hill without allowing an earned run.

2012: Ben Currie made 14 appearances his sophomore year at Wingate, starting 12 of those contests. He finished the year with a 7-4 record and 6.72 ERA. His seven wins led the team and finished seventh in the SAC, while he finished eighth in the league with 77 2/3 innings pitched. Currie had 45 strikeouts on the season. He opened the season without allowing an earned run in 5 2/3 innings of work against Concord. Currie went seven innings at Lenoir-Rhyne, allowing one run on three hits to earn the win. He went seven against LMU, striking out five while earning the victory. Currie struck out a season-high seven in eight innings at Carson-Newman, allowing four runs while earning the win. He needed only 92 pitches to notch a complete game against Anderson, allowing a run on four hits. He struck out five in six innings of work at Mars Hill, earning the win while allowing three runs. Currie allowed just three earned runs in seven innings of work against Brevard in the SAC Tournament to pick up his seventh victory of the season. 

2011: Ben Currie became a weekend starter for the Bulldogs during the second half of his freshman season. He finished the year with a 3.00 ERA, going 3-5. He had Wingate’s lone complete game of the 2011 season. He also nailed down a pair of saves on the season, making a total of five relief appearances in addition to his 12 start.  Currie had 47 strikeouts in 72 innings of work during his freshman campaign.

Personal: Currie earned conference Player of the Year honors as a senior at West Forsyth, leading the team to a conference title. Currie also earned All-County and All-State honors in 2010, as he went 7-2 with a 1.71 ERA and 98 strikeouts in 65 1/3 innings of work. Ben is the son of Randy and Nancy Currie. He is a Sport Management major.
