Personal: Phillips was a member of the Wingate intramural basketball championship team as a freshman. He participates in Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai during his spare time.
High School: Phillips was a four-year letter winner in cross country at Lake Norman Charter. He was the team captain his junior and senior years, as well as the MVP. He was also the Lake Norman Area Runner of the Year in his senior year.
His senior year honors include All-Region, All-County, All-State and All-County first team honors, as well as earning the runner-up spot in the Mid-West Regional meet. As a junior, Phillips was an All-Region selection. He was PAC champion his sophomore and senior years, as well as earning regional champion laurels as a senior. Phillips holds the 5K school record with a time of 16:24. Jordan is the son of Brad and Page Phillips.
