Prior to Wingate: Braelyn Whiteside led her ACA Lions to the final round of playoffs her senior year, where they finished number two in the NCISAA 2A division...Despite losing in the final round of the state playoffs, her team finished as CAA co-champions in conference play...Posted a 25-point effort in a game against Davidson Day her senior year...Averaged 12.2 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 1.4 assists in her final season for head coach John Williams...Joined the 1,000-point club at ACA, totaling 1,340 career points...With her success at Asheville Christian, Whiteside was named to the CAA all-conference team, while also earning a spot on the NCISAA all-star roster...Picked up honors as the Freedom Christmas Invitational MVP...Also spent time playing with the Western Carolina AAU Trailblazers team and head coach Brian Davis...In her four years with the Trailblazers, she was named the team MVP and captain three years in a row...Whiteside also stood out in the classroom as a scholar-athlete...Maintained a 4.00 GPA throughout the entire course of high school...An Asheville Christian Academy graduate, Braelyn is the daughter of Brian and Kathy Whiteside...She has four brothers and two sisters.
