2017-18: Morgan Simmons saw time in 23 games in her first season as a Bulldog…Averaged 2.8 points per game and 0.6 rebounds per contest…Finished third on the team with 18 threes, shooting 41 percent from beyond the arc...Netted eight points, with three rebounds, three assists and two steals in the Mars Hill win…Scored a career-high 18 points at Mars Hill, going six-for-10 from behind the arc, adding a steal, rebound and an assist.
Prior to Wingate: Simmons
led the Mill Creek Hawks to a 25-5 overall record and an 11-2 record in the region her senior season. Simmons tallied 26 points in her squad’s win over Class AAAAAAA state title contender Archer after putting together a 27-point performance the same week. She holds the current three-point record for Mill Creek and Gwinnett County, netting 96 shots beyond the arc in one season with a school-best eight three-pointers in one game. Simmons averaged 15 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 1.4 assists per game in her senior season.
She garnered several honors throughout her career at Mill Creek. As a senior, she was named the 2016 Sweet South Classic tournament MVP, first team all-region and first team All-Gwinnett County. Simmons was named an Outstanding Senior Athlete for Gwinnett County as well. She played her AAU basketball for head coach
Rodney Storms and the Atlanta Cagers.
Simmons held a 3.9 GPA and graduated with honors from Mill Creek. She was a member of the Gwinnett County Tipoff Club academic team. Morgan is the daughter of

Why Morgan chose Wingate: When I came on my visit, Wingate felt like home. The team and the coaches felt like a family before I left the campus. I also liked the size of Wingate because it is smaller than my high school as far as the number of students. I knew that would make the transition to college a little easier. Lastly, Wingate is not too far from home, so my family will be able to make a majority of the games
