Wingate University Athletics

Andrew Garner is the anchor of the Bulldog offensive line at the center position. He will be an important part of the Wingate offense, as he devises correct protection schemes and provides excellent pass protection. A three-year starter, Garner helped the Bulldogs finish second in the SAC in scoring offense (33.6 points per game) and passing offense (241.1 yards per game) in 2009. Wingate averaged 395.3 total offense yards per game last year. Garner and the O-Line helped Vince Jordan earn a career-best rushing year in 2009. 

In 2008, Garner and the Bulldogs ranked second in the SAC (and ninth in the NCAA Division II) in passing offense with 238.4 passing yards per game. The Bulldog offensive line has blocked for Nelson Woods during two 1000-yard seasons. Wingate averaged over 242 passing yards per game in 2007 (third in the SAC). While a student-athlete at Northgate High School, Garner was a member of the football and wrestling teams. He earned three letters in each sport. Garner was the captain of the football team his senior year. He was named All-County his junior and senior seasons. Andrew Garner is the son of Andy and Janet Garner.
