Biography

Austin Clemons saw time in nine 2010 games as the Bulldogs made a historic run to the SAC regular season championship and a spot in the NCAA Division II play-offs. Clemons provides the Wingate coaching staff with much versatility for special teams and defensive assignments. In 2009, Clemons posted a tackle in Wingate’s victory over North Greenville (Sept. 5, 2009). He saw action in five contests for the same season.

Clemons was a redshirt during the 2008 season. At Fairmont Prep Academy, he played three sports (football, basketball, baseball). His football coach was Bobby Mendoza. Clemons was football and basketball MVP his senior year. An All-Conference pick in football, Clemons led the conference in receiving yards and tackles his final season. His team made the play-offs his senior year. He is the son of Randy Clemons and Karen Summers.
