Austin Proehl is in his first season on the Wingate coaching staff in 2024, serving as the Wide Receivers Coach. Proehl was a seventh round draft pick by the Buffalo Bills in 2018 and appeared in the Super Bowl with the LA Rams in 2019. His NFL career spanned from 2018 through 2023, with the Bills, Rams, Chargers and Giants. He also spent a season with the Battle Hawks in the XFL in 2023.
Proehl played his college football at the University of North Carolina from 2013 through 2017. HE was also a standout at Providence High School in Charlotte. He is the son of Ricky Proehl, who spent 17 years in the NFL including a six-year stint with the Carolina Panthers.
