Biography

Derrick Jackson saw part-time duty in the Wingate secondary during 2008. Jackson joined the Wingate family as a transfer from Fayetteville State University. Jackson played football, basketball and track at South View High School. His football coach was Randy Ledford. Jackson was All-Conference in all three sports. On the gridiron, he earned All-Region honors as he helped the Fighting Tigers earn a regional title. South View was a state runner-up in football his senior season. SVHS earned a sectional crown in basketball during Jackson’s hoops career. Jackson is the son of Angela Taylor.
