Ed Doughty is one of the most versatile players on the Bulldog roster. He will make a switch to running back for the 2009 campaign. In 2008, he posted a career-high 44 tackles. Doughty added nine tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks and two fumble recoveries. He had eight tackles in a home win over ECSU. Doughty forced a fumble in a SAC victory over Tusculum. In 2007, he recorded 43 tackles with seven tackles for loss and six sacks. Doughty recovered two fumbles and intercepted two passes. He returned an interception 50 yards for a touchdown at Tusculum in 2007. Doughty was an All-Conference football player two years for Orange Park High. A two-time football team captain, Doughty was also All-Conference in track. The football team’s Old Spice Player of the Year, he topped the team charts in tackles and sacks his senior season. Ed is the son of Edward Doughty, Sr. and Brenda Butler.
