Wingate University Athletics

Jacob Lowder and his 16 senior teammates are hoping to conclude their Wingate careers with a South Atlantic Conference championship. Last year, the Bulldogs averaged 31.1 points per game, second on the SAC scoring offense charts. Lowder helped the Wingate offense average 241.1 passing yards per game, 154.2 rushing yards per game and 395.3 total offense yards per game this season.

In 2008, Lowder and the Bulldogs were second in the SAC in passing offense with 238.4 yards per game. Wingate was among the top 10 in the NCAA Division II as well. Lowder utilized a redshirt season in 2007. A Weddington High honors graduate, Lowder played his scholastic football for head coach Ed Susi. Lowder was All-County (twice), All-Conference and All-Region for the Warriors. Lowder concluded his Weddington career with 31 consecutive starts on the offensive line. He was member of the wrestling and track teams at WHS. He is the son of Bill and Vicki Lowder.
