Biography

Luis Alvarez posted 30 tackles in his first season with the Bulldogs. He had 2.5 tackles for losses and one fumble recovery. Prior to joining the Wingate family, Alvarez played two seasons at Snow (Utah) College for coach Steve Coburn. The SC Badgers won bowl games during both of his seasons and earned a conference title his sophomore year. Alvarez was All-Conference, All-Region and All-American. As a sophomore, he had 48 tackles and one interception return for a TD. Alvarez was team MVP at Frostproof (Fla.) High his senior year, posting 84 tackles and five interceptions. He is the son of Luis and Lydia Alvarez.
