Biography

Michael Crutchfield enters his senior season with the Bulldogs as Wingate’s primary punter and kicker. As Wingate’s punter in 2007, Crutchfield averaged 38.0 yards per punt without a blocked punt. His long punt was a 54-yarder in a victory over Davidson. He had 16 punts inside the 20. In addition, Crutchfield booted a 34-yard field goal in a win at UNC Pembroke (Sept. 15). In 2006, he averaged 36.2 yards per punt with a long boot of 55 yards. Crutchfield forced eight fair catches and landed 11 punts inside the opponent’s 20-yard line. Crutchfield was a member of three league champion football teams at Northwest Cabarrus High. In addition, he was an All-Conference wrestler during his junior year.
