Wingate University Athletics

Ralph Curiel was a starter from the moment he walked on the Wingate campus in 2009. Curiel and the Bulldogs finished second in the SAC in scoring offense (33.6 points per game) and passing offense (241.1 yards per game) last year. Wingate averaged 395.3 total offense yards per game last year. One of the top students on the Wingate campus, Curiel was named to the SAC Commissioner’s Honor Roll last year. An ESPN Academic All-America® candidate, Curiel is a member of Wingate’s Academic top 10 and the SAC Commissioner’s Honor Roll. 

A transfer from the College of the Canyons, Curiel was a sophomore starter and two-year letter winner. He helped the Cougars compile a 12-1 overall record and average over 44 points per game. At Tehachapi High School, Curiel played football for head coach Steve Denman. Tehachapi won the 2003 CIF championship his sophomore season. Curiel was All-SSL his junior and senior campaigns, serving as a team captain his final season. He is the son of Ralph and Maria Curiel.
