Ryan Webber had 26 receptions for 408 yards and six touchdowns in 2008. He caught five passes for 74 yards and two scores in a victory over UNC Pembroke. The Charlotte Touchdown Club Scholarship recipient, Webber was named to the 2008 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District III football first team (college division), selected by CoSIDA. He was an All-SAC choice as well. He caught two passes for 16 yards in 2007, serving as an understudy to Bulldog All-American Chris Conklin. He caught one pass each in victories over UNCP and Brevard. Webber also recorded two special teams’ tackles in 2007. Webber transferred to Wingate from Guilford in the spring of 2007. Webber played football and baseball at Jay M. Robinson High School. His football coach was Bobby Cloninger. An All-Conference pick and the team’s offensive MVP his senior football season, Webber led the Robinson Bulldogs with 30 receptions for 330 yards and five touchdowns his senior season. At Wingate, he is a member of the Sport Science Majors Club. He is the son of Mark and Ava Webber.
