2019: Savon Johnson led Wingate with two blocked kicks (both punts) as the Bulldogs won 10 games for the first time in school history…Blocked punts in victories over Carson-Newman and UNC Pembroke…Returned a kick-off for eight yards against Newberry…

Personal: Savon Johnson played both middle and outside linebacker for head coach Heath Hinton at Lakeside High School. Johnson also played soccer for the Vikings. Academically, Johnson was a member of the Lakeside Beta Club for three years. Savon is the son of Dwayne Johnson and Camille Blackmore Johnson. His mom played soccer at Wingate.
