Biography

Shane Outen made solid contributions to the Bulldogs as a true freshman. He saw action in 11 games, posting 11 tackles. Outen had three tackles each in victories over North Greenville and Brevard. At Sun Valley, Outen was a member of the football and track teams. On the gridiron, he was the defensive Player of the Year for the conference and the county his senior year. Outen was All-Conference and All-Union County two years each for head coach Scott Stein. A team captain and defensive MVP, Outen led the Spartans in tackles his senior season. He is the son of David and Ginger Outen. Shane’s uncle David Rodgers played college football at N.C. State.
