2011-12: Jakari Thompson started two home games for the Bulldogs as a true freshman (Carson-Newman, Anderson); Wingate won both contests. On the season, Thompson saw action in 24 of the Bulldogs’ 32 games. She averaged 0.5 points per game and 0.7 rebounds per game. Thompson netted a season-high four points in a home victory over Belmont Abbey. She had two points, four rebounds and two assists at Tusculum. Thompson pulled down three rebounds at Lincoln Memorial.

Prior to Wingate: Jakari Thompson averaged 10 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals per game as a high school senior at Academy of the Holy Cross. She was named 2011 McDonald’s All-American honorable mention while playing for head coach Eddie Simpson. Thompson played AAU for DC Love and coach Russell Davis and for Love Sol and coach Brian Mackey. Jakari Thompson is the daughter of Loraine Rollins and Winston Thompson.
