Biography
2007-08: Larry Staley appeared in 28 games for the Bulldogs, while starting three. Staley averaged 3.6 points and 1.3 rebounds per game. He had a career-high 14 points at Tusculum, while going six-of-nine from the field. Staley scored five or more points 12 times during the season. He had seven points, five rebounds and two assists against Catawba.
2006-07: Larry Staley averaged 2.2 points per game and 1.0 rebounds per game in 21 games during the 2006-07 season for the Bulldogs. On February 24 at Carson-Newman, Staley stepped up off the bench and led Wingate to a huge away victory by contributing 12 points.
HIGH SCHOOL: Staley was a three-year letter winner in basketball at Butler High School. Staley was the Southwestern (4A) Conference Player of the Year his senior season. Additionally, he was the team captain and team MVP for his final high school campaign. Staley also won the 4.0 second semester award for his work in the classroom. His cousin (Maurice Staley) played football at the University of Tennessee, while another cousin (Andrea Stinson) is a former WNBA basketball player for the Charlotte Sting. Staley attended Western Carolina University one year before joining the Bulldog family. Larry is the son of Larry and Carol Staley.
