Biography
2013-14: David Collum swam a career-best 52.36 in the 100 Butterfly at the ninth annual SCAD College Invitational in Savannah, Ga. Dec. 5. He opened his junior season with the top time of 22.49 in the 50 Freestyle at the 2013 All-N.C. Invitational in Greensboro (

2012-13: For the second year in a row, Collum received All-Bluegrass Mountain Conference honors in the 100 Breaststroke (56.32), the 200 Individual Medley (1:50.54) and the 400 Individual Medley (4:03.35). Each of these times places him in Wingate’s all-time top 10 finishes. His 200 Breaststroke time (2:10.66) at the eighth annual SCAD Invitational also makes the WU top 10. 2011-12: Collum had a very steady freshman year, finishing fourth in the 100 Breaststroke, the 200 Individual Medley and the 400 Individual Medley at the season-ending BMC championship meet. He was named to the All-BMC team in each event. Collum swam a career-best 1:47.15 100 Freestyle time in the Wingate Fall Frenzy at the Mecklenburg County Aquatics Center (MCAC) pool in downtown Charlotte.
Personal: David Collum swam for DeLand High School in Deland, Fla. He was a part of the Daytona Beach Speed swimming club. Collum was a three-time state qualifier and two-time state finalist. He earned second team All-State honors in 2009 and 2010. Collum was named the 2010
Daytona Beach News-Journal Swimmer of the Year. He holds the school record in the 100 Breast. Collum was the co-captain during his junior and senior years.
