Biography
2019-20 (SENIOR)
- Elected team captain by his teammates
- Received All-Conference honors for two events at the Bluegrass Mountain Conference Championship: 100-yard backstroke (fourth, 49.13) and 200-yard individual medley (sixth, 1:49.96)
- Also competed in the 200-yard backstroke (seventh, 1:49.96)
- Earned All-American Honorable Mention honors as a member of the 200-yard medley relay, 400-yard medley relay, and 800-yard freestyle relay at the 2019 NCAA Division II National Championship
- Received Google Cloud Academic All-America and Google Cloud Academic All-District III honors from CoSIDA
- Earned CSCAA Scholar All-American honors for his achievements in both the classroom and the pool
2017-18 (SOPHOMORE)
- Concluded 2018 season with an emphatic second-place finish in the 400 Freestyle Relay (2:56.48) at the NCAA Division II championship meet in Greensboro
- Wingate had entered the NCAA 400 Free Relay as the number eight seed; Furst swan third leg
- Earned All-American honors in the 400 Free Relay and the 200 Free Relay (seventh, 1:20.70)
- Also swan 800 Freestyle Relay (10th, 6:34.03) and the 100 (45.01) and 200 Freestyles (1:39.01) at the NCAA meet
- In first Bluegrass Mountain Conference meet, seven swims, seven All-BMC honors
- BMC times: 200 Medley Relay (second, 1:27.89), 800 Freestyle Relay (second, 6:33.03), 200 Individual Medley (1:48.84), 200 Freestyle Relay (second, 1:20.85), 200 Freestyle (fourth, 1:38.31), 100 Freestyle (fifth, 44.98) and 400 Freestyle Relay (second, 2:56.62)
- Earned CSCAA Scholar All-American laurels for his achievements in the classroom and the pool
2016-17 (FRESHMAN)
- Joined the Bulldog family in the spring of 2017
