2012-13: Tim Kniffler won the 200 Backstroke at the 2013 Bluegrass Mountain Conference championships. He was All-BMC in five events (100 and 200 Backstroke, 200 Individual Medley and 200 and 400 Medley Relays). At the 2013 NCAA Division II national meet in Alabama, Kniffler was named an All-American in the 200 Backstroke and the 400 Medley Relay. He gained honorable mention AA laurels in the 200 Individual Medley and the 200 Medley Relay (WU Swim top time report).

Kniffler had four of his best time of his collegiate career in the 100 Freestyle (47.08), 200 Backstroke (1:45.93), 100 Butterfly (50.70), and the 200 Individual Medley (1:48.91). His 200 Backstroke time is the fastest time ever recorded by a Bulldog.  Kniffler made a tremendous impact on Wingate’s relay teams, especially the 200 Medley Relay and the 400 Medley Relay.

2011-12: As a sophomore, Kniffler claimed All-American honors in the 200 and 400 Medley Relays. Wingate won its fifth consecutive BMC title, as Kniffler recorded All-BMC swims in the 100 and 200 Backstroke, the 200 Individual Medley and the 200 Medley Relay.

2010-11: In his first Bulldog season, Tim Kniffler earned All-American distinction in the 200 Backstroke. He received honorable mention laurels in the 200 Individual Medley and the 400 Medley Relay and 400 Freestyle Relay events. Kniffler was an All-Bluegrass Mountain Conference selection in the 100 and 200 Backstroke, the 200 IM and the 200 and 400 Freestyle Relay events.

Personal: Tim Kniffler attended Otto Pankok Schule in Germany. A member of the SG Mülheim swimming club, Kniffler earned multiple national cuts. He was a state champion in his age group in the 100 Backstroke and the 200 Backstroke. Kniffler’s team won two Bundesliga West titles. Tim is the son of Egbert and Ulrike Kniffler.
