Biography
2018: Arion Pierre started all 19 games for the Bulldogs during her junior season...Led the SAC with 206 saves and a 48.4 save percentage...Finished fourth in the league with a 13.21 goals-against average...Had double-digit saves 11 times in 19 games...Collected 19 saves on three occasions (Rollins, Belmont Abbey and Saint Leo)...Had 18 saves in the season opener against SCAD...Collected 15 saves against Concordia-St. Paul and again against Queens.
2017: All-South Atlantic Conference, first team….Pierre has started every game she has played since she arrived at Wingate…posted 168 total saves which was fourth overall in the SAC...led the league and ranked ninth in the nation with a 50.3 save percentage…third in the conference with her 10.18 goals-against average and fourth with 166 goals allowed on the season…averaged 9.33 saves per game, fourth in the SAC…earned SAC Defensive Player of the Week honors in four consecutive weeks (March 20-April 10)…tallied double-digit saves in 11 of 18 games for the Bulldogs, including a career-high 18 saves against Rollins College on Feb. 26…
2016: All-SAC, second team…Pierre started every game in the cage as a true freshman…recorded 157 saves and posted a 10.34 goals against average…named the SAC Defensive Player of the Week three times…posted a career-high 15 saves in a 17-15 victory over NAIA number one SCAD-Savannah Bees…had two 13-save performances against Queens and Mount Olive …picked up 52 ground balls, tops on the Wingate charts…SAC Commissioner’s Honor Roll student…
High School: Arion Pierre played goalie three seasons for head coach
Rice Lille and one season for head coach
Mary Kugler, earning four varsity letters in lacrosse at Battlefield High School (Haymarket, Va.). She was named second team all-conference her sophomore season and first team all-conference and all-county following her junior season. As a senior, Pierre was named first team all-conference and second team all-region to finish out her high school career. Pierre was also named a team captain and earned the Coaches Award her senior year. She recorded a total of 360 saves and 32 ground balls throughout her high school career.
Academic Achievements: Pierre was on her high school academic honor roll her freshman, junior and senior years, earning membership in the Battlefield Spanish Honor Society. She received her Silver Award in Girl Scouts.
