Bob Stanclift joined the Wingate softball coaching staff in the summer of 2019 as a volunteer coach. He is the father of Wingate Head Coach Jamie Stanclift.
Stanclift is the University of Kansas softball's winningest coach. He led the Jayhawks to an impressive 348-160 record in his 10 seasons from 1976 through 1987. In his first year at KU, the Jayhawks went 26-12, advanced to the AIAW College World Series and finished ninth in the nation. KU claimed its first-ever softball conference title, winning the Big Eight in 1977. The Jayhawks would return to the World Series in 1979 and made trips to the NCAA Regionals in 1983, 1985 and 1986 under Stanclift. KU also won Big Eight titles in 1979 and 1983.
Stanclift coached six Jayhawks to All-America honors and led the University of Kansas to five NCAA tournament appearances during his ten-year tenure. Stanclift earned a bachelor's degree in Education from Kansas in 1974. He played baseball for the Jayhawks in 1972 and played two seasons semi-professionally. He also served as the volunteer assistant coach at Baker the six years prior to joining the Wingate staff.
