Biography
2010: In her first season as a Bulldog, Izabella Miranda made 17 appearances with 13 starts. She scored six goals and added three assists. Miranda was also named to the All-SAC first team. She was second on the team in goals and third in points. Five of her goals came in SAC action, while her sixth came in Wingate’s 1-0 Food Lion SAC tournament quarter-final victory over Catawba.
Miranda was named to the 2011 SAC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
Personal: Miranda joins the Bulldogs as a transfer from Brandeis (Mass.) University. Miranda played her club soccer for coach Darren Gallagher at Mass Premier Soccer, the same club as teammate Casey King. The Mass Premier Soccer team won a U.S. national championship during her time with the club. While a student-athlete at Plymouth North High School, Miranda was a member of the women’s soccer and indoor track teams. A captain for both teams as a senior, Miranda was honorable mention All-Atlantic Coastal League in both sports. While at Brandeis, Miranda helped the Judges win the ECAC championship in 2008. Izabella is the daughter of Jose and Katie Miranda.
