2014: Kayla Saliga also earned first team All-SAC and second team All-Region honors during her final year at Wingate…Earned Capital One Academic All-America first team honors…Hit a team-best .372 in 2014 with 13 doubles, seven homers, 30 RBI and 26 runs scored…Had a .421 on-base percentage and .570 slugging percentage...Finished 10th in the SAC in doubles, ranking 11th in batting average and homers…Started her year by hitting a homer in both games of the doubleheader against GRU Augusta...Was three-for-four with a double and two RBI against Erskine in game two…Hit safely in each of Wingate's first 13 games of the 2014 season…Had a homer and three RBI in the win over #11 North Georgia…Had a double, homer and two runs scored in game two of the USC Aiken doubleheader…Was three-for-five with a homer and two runs scored in game two against Queens…Had two hits and two RBI in game two at Mars Hill, while going two-for-four with a double, RBI and run scored at Brevard in game two…Hit a solo homer in the seventh inning of Wingate's 1-0 win over Lenoir-Rhyne in the SAC Tournament…Went two-for-three with a double and two RBI against Catawba in the SAC Tournament.

2013: Earned second team All-SAC honors as a junior…Led the Bulldogs with a .346 batting average…In 25 starts, hit five homers and seven doubles, driving in 18 runs and scoring 22…Wingate went 19-6 in games started by Saliga, who earned SAC Player of the Week honors the final week of the regular season…Piled up 10 multi-hit games in her 25 starts, driving in multiple runs six times…Went three-for-four with a double and two runs scored against Francis Marion…Was two-for-four with two run scored against Brevard, while adding a homer and three RBI in game two of the doubleheader…Went two-for-four with a double, RBI and two runs scored in the win at Tusculum…Hit the game-winning walk-off homer in the bottom of the seventh in Wingate's 2-0 win against Catawba…Added a double and two RBI against Mars Hill, while capping the regular season by going two-for-four with a homer and three RBI at Limestone...Was two-for-three with a homer and three runs scored in the SAC Tournament victory over Anderson…Had two doubles, two RBI and a run scored in the NCAA Tournament win over Mount Olive…Had a homer and two RBI against Armstrong Atlantic in the NCAA Tournament.

Why Kayla chose Wingate: Wingate allowed me to continue my education in college while still be able to play softball. The small class sizes and academic environment make it possible for me to do my best in the classroom and on the field.
