Personal: Nancy Crawley earned five varsity softball letters at Cheraw High School for head coach Jamie Brown. She was also a member of the volleyball and cross country teams. Crawley was a two-time All-Region softball player. She earned All-State honors her senior year. Cheraw’s captain and MVP her final season, Crawley hit .313 and posted a 1.02 ERA as Cheraw won the region and district championships. The Braves were lower state runner-up in 2009. She was Cheraw’s cross country team MVP as a junior. The number eight person in senior class, Crawley was a member of the CHS National Honor Society. In 2008, she played and pitched in the Surf City Showcase in Orange County, Calif. She was chosen to be a member of a global team with players from the USA, Czech Republic, China, Japan and Canada. Nancy Crawley is the daughter of Rodney and Mary Crawley. Her family has a long history with Wingate University. Her great-grandfather (Walter R. Wiley, M.D.) graduated from Wingate in 1925. Other members of her family to attend and graduate from Wingate include Monnie Bittle (grandmother, 1990), Mary Hannah Bittle Crawley (mother, 1983), John Bittle (uncle, 1990) and James Bittle (uncle, 1991). Nancy is a Sport Management major.
