Biography
Nikki Burton averaged 19.3 points, 9.5 rebounds and 3.3 steals per game as a senior for head coach Reggie Mobley at West Charlotte High. She helped lead her team to the 2009 N.C. 4A state championship, earning tournament MVP honors. Burton was selected All-Conference and All-Region all four seasons at WCHS. She was also named All-State as a junior and senior.
Burton was named the MVP of the 2009 Carolinas All-Star Basketball Classic. She was a first team All-Observer (Charlotte Observer) selection in 2009. She also played AAU for the GA’Lina 76ers and coach Reggie Wilson. Burton is transferring to Wingate from Louisville. At UofL, Burton played in 18 games as a freshman, starting 11. Nikki Burton is the daughter of Carla and Jimmy McCullough.
