Biography
2011-12: Sarah Wollett contributed 5.8 points per game as a junior, fifth on the Wingate charts. She posted a season-high 12 points in a home victory over Anderson (S.C.). In the Food Lion SAC tournament final, she had 10 points on the strength of a season-best three three-point field goals as the Bulldogs defeated Catawba. Her 81 assists were second on the team. Wollett dished out six helpers in an NCAA tournament victory over Barton. She nailed 53-of-65 charity tosses (81.5 percent), making her the third-best free throw shooter on the team.
2010-11: Wollett averaged 9.0 points per game for the Bulldogs, fourth on the team. She appeared in 29 games, while starting 26 times. Wollett led the team in assists with 74 (2.6 per game); she shot 76.6 percent from the free throw line (59-of-77). Wollett netted a career-high 21 points on two occasions against King and Catawba (SAC tourney). She scored double figures in 12 games. Wingate was 10-2 overall when Wollett scored 10 points or more. She had 18 points in a home victory over Tusculum.
2009-10: Wollett was fourth on the Wingate charts, averaging 6.5 points per game. She stepped up her game in league play, posting 7.5 points per game in 13 league appearances. She led the Bulldogs with her 75 assists. She was second on the team in steals with 29. On the SAC charts, Wollett was sixth in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.01) and eighth in assists (3.1 helpers per game). Wollett scored a career-high 20 points in Wingate’s victory at NCAA Elite Eight qualifier Tusculum. She hit double figures on five occasions, including four times in league play.
High School: Wollett and her teammates helped Wakefield High School post a 26-3 record during the 2008-09 campaign. In recognition of her efforts, Wollett was named to the North Carolina versus South Carolina All-Star Game in March. The North Carolina All-Stars were victorious 100-77.
In July 2009, Wollett played in the North Carolina East-West All-Star game in Greensboro. During her senior season, Wollett averaged 12 points per game and 6.5 assists per game. She was named first team all-conference following her final season.
