2016-17: Zasha Barrett saw time in 26 sophomore year contests, averaging 2.8 points per game and 2.8 rebounds per game…Posted a career-high 10 points in a thrilling 71-69 SAC road victory at previously undefeated Lincoln Memorial…Grabbed a career-high seven rebounds in a road triumph at Brevard…Started her second Bulldog season with nine points and six boards in a two-point road win at Armstrong State…
2015-16: Barrett participated in 19 games as a first-year Bulldog…scored 30 points and secured 27 rebounds…recorded season-highs in points (nine) and rebounds (four) in a home victory over Queens…hit 48 percent of her field goal attempts (12-of-25)…posted eight points in her first SAC game, a huge road victory at Lenoir-Rhyne…recorded five points in wild 106-103 double overtime triumph at Mars Hill…
Prior to Wingate: Zasha Barrett averaged 17.4 points per game and 13.7 rebounds per game as a senior for head coach Leroy Osborne. Barrett was team captain and team MVP her final season. She received All-Union County and All-Rocky River Conference honors three years each. Barrett concluded her Redhawk basketball career averaging a double-double with 14.4 points per game and 11.1 rebounds per game. She was the top rebounder in Union County her senior season.
In track and field, she placed 10th in the long jump at the 2A state meet her senior year. The MHS Redhawks won the conference, region and state titles her final track season. In addition to earning four letters each in basketball and track, Barrett lettered one season in volleyball. Barrett is the daughter of Wendy Covington.
