Biography

2016: Mikaela Hadaway was named to 2016 Academic All-America® NCAA Division II women’s at-large third team…The 2016 South Atlantic Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year for women’s golf, Hadaway has a perfect 4.00 GPA with a Psychology major and a Biology minor…On the links, Hadaway had three top-five finishes with two top-three showings during the 2016 campaign…At Wingate’s Intercollegiate Challenge, Hadaway tied for first after 36 holes, but ultimately finished in second following a play-off appearance…Wingate’s 2016 team MVP, she averaged a team-best 80.5 strokes per round in 2015-16…Hadaway served as a team captain…She placed fifth at the SAC Preview with a 36-hole total of 157 and finished second at the Converse Spring Invite after shooting a second-round 74 to bring her to a two-round total of 155…SAC Commissioner’s Honor Roll student…

2015: Hadaway played in nine events (20 rounds) her sophomore season…she recorded two top-10 finishes, including her ninth-place finish at the SAC tournament where she shot a seasonal- best 73 in the second round…her SAC total was 237 (82-73-82)…Hadaway also shot a 77 in both rounds of the Pfeiffer Invitational, totaling a score of 154 for a seventh-place performance…
 
2014: Hadaway participated in four events as a true freshman…She posted a 162 in the Smoky Mountain Intercollegiate (80-82)…the round of 80 was her best of the season…In the Bearcat Invitational, Hadaway posted back-to-back rounds of 82 for a two-day score of 164…She also competed in the two Tusculum events (Kiawah Island, Agnes McAmis) during her first Bulldog season…
 
General: Mikaela Katherine Hadaway is an honor student at Wingate University, majoring in Psychology with a minor in Biology…She has earned President’s List honors at Wingate…Hadaway was born in Virginia and grew up in Ohio with her parents and older brother…In addition to golf, she enjoys stand-up paddle boarding, cooking and fitness training…Hadaway received a volunteer service award from Miami Valley Hospital for her 300 hours of service during the summer of 2014…At Wingate, she serves on Student-Athlete Advisory Committee…Hadaway is also involved in the Chemistry Club, the Pre-Physician Assistant Club and the Student Bulldog Club…South Atlantic Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll student…
 
Amateur:  Hadaway was the Southern Ohio PGA Junior Player of the Year in 2011, the NCR Country Club Women’s Club Champion in 2013 and 2014 and the winner of the Golf Week Junior Tour event at Dayton Country Club in 2014…
 
High School: Hadaway was a Scholar-Athlete at Chaminade Julienne Catholic High School in Dayton, Ohio, where she played in every match during her four years on the women’s varsity golf team…Hadaway was the number one player and team MVP her sophomore, junior and senior season…she played with her team at the Ohio State Division II High School Championship four of four years, leading her team to a state championship title in 2011 and state runner-up honors in 2012…
 
Hadaway received numerous athletic, academic and service awards…she was a member of the National Honor Society and was on the Honor Roll every semester of her high school career… Hadaway was also active in her community as a leader on the Kettering Youth Services Board…She was also a frequent volunteer at her church…
