Delaney Schappert enters her fourth year on the Wingate Women's Lacrosse staff as the assistant coach and her second year as the full-time assistant coach. Schappert played High School lacrosse at Eastport South Manor on Long Island N.Y. From there, she took her lacrosse career to Bloomsburg University. During her time at Bloomsburg, Schappert was a four-year starter for their women’s lacrosse program. She became team captain her junior year, she helped lead her team to the most caused turnovers in the NCAA for Division II.
Schappert work’s specifically as the defensive coach at Wingate. This most recent season Wingate’s defense led the NCAA for Division II in scoring defense and caused turnovers, setting program records in both categories as the 'Dogs won their first-ever regular season SAC title and went on to capture the first SAC Tournament championship in program history while piling up a program-record 17 wins. Wingate allowed only 6.42 goals per game in the 2023 season to lead the nation, while piling up 16.05 caused turnovers per contest.
Schappert graduated with a degree in Communication Studies in May 2020. She earned her masters degree in Masters of Arts in Sports Management from Wingate in May 2022. She is also currently coaching Ultimate, a women's lacrosse club program in Charlotte.
