Wingate University Athletics

Ashlee Pentony participated in 11 contests during her freshman campaign. She started three matches for the Bulldogs. Pentony and the Bulldog defense allowed only 0.69 goals per game in 2008, tops on the SAC charts. The Wingate defense also led the SAC with 11 shutouts on the season. 

A three-year letter winner at Apex High School, Pentony earned the leadership award following her senior season in soccer. Year-in-and-year-out, the Apex Cougars have one of the most successful programs in North Carolina. Apex won the state championship Pentony’s senior year. Also, the Cougars earned three conference titles during her AHS career. She played for the award-winning ’89 CASL Spartan Premier club team as well. A solid student, Pentony was also a member of the A/B Honor Roll. Ashlee is the daughter of Andrew and Dee Pentony.
