Biography
2012: Holly Holsclaw started 18 games for the Bulldogs during her junior season, registering a goal and three assists. Holsclaw was a key piece of the Wingate defense that held opponents to 1.26 goals and 11 shots per game. The Bulldogs registered six shutouts during the 2012 season. Holsclaw registered an assist in the 3-0 win over Carson-Newman and the 3-1 victory at Catawba. She also had an assist in the 4-1 win at Anderson. She scored a goal in the 5-0 win against Mars Hill.
2010: In her first season for the Bulldogs, Holsclaw appeared in 18 matches with 16 starts. She recorded two assists on the season – one in a 2-1 win against Tusculum and the other in the 1-0 victory against Lincoln Memorial. Holsclaw was named to the 2011 SAC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
Personal: Holsclaw will bring an array of outstanding qualities to the Bulldogs’ defense. She will join her sister Hannah on the Wingate roster. Holly Holsclaw played her club soccer for Wingate men’s soccer All-Decade team member Adam Denton at Charlotte Soccer Academy. The CSA team earned State Cup championships in 2006 and 2007. At Butler High School, Holly Holsclaw was coached by Wingate alum Chip Wiggins. Holsclaw was All-Conference as a junior and senior. An All-State performer her final season, Holsclaw served as a team co-captain during her last campaign. The Butler Bulldogs won a conference championship during her career. A junior marshal and National Honor Society member, Holly is the daughter of Don and April Holsclaw. Her great-grandmother attended Wingate.
