Wingate University Athletics

2012: Taryn Grivois started 18 contests for the Bulldogs during her junior season, registering two goals and two assists. She took 18 shots on the season, with half of those on goal. Grivois scored a goal in Wingate’s 4-2 victory at Queens. She had an assist in the 4-2 win over UNC Pembroke, while also notching an assist in the 4-1 win against Newberry in the SAC Tournament. Grivois scored a goal in Wingate’s NCAA Tournament contest against North Georgia.

2011: Grivois appeared in 16 contests as a defensive midfielder during her sophomore year, starting six matches for the Bulldogs. She played a key role in the defensive effort that held opponents to 1.06 goals per game and registered a league-best nine shutouts. Grivois also registered an assist in Wingate’s 3-0 win over USC Aiken. 

2010: In her first year as a Bulldog, Grivois made nine appearances with one start. Grivois was named to the 2011 SAC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

Personal: Grivois will help strengthen the Bulldogs’ midfield and will give them both an offensive threat as well as a defensive mentality. Grivois was captain of her club team FC Murrieta, where she played for coach Greg Ferringo. At Murrieta Valley High School, Grivois was a member of the soccer and track teams. Her soccer coach was Harry Hutcheson. She won the team’s Most Inspiration Award as a senior and the team Offensive MVP trophy as a junior. She was second team All-Southwestern League as a sophomore and a junior. Murrieta Valley won the league title her final season. A three-time Scholar-Athlete Award winner, Grivois helped her team advance to the state quarter-finals her last two seasons. Taryn is the daughter of John and Debbie Grivois.
