Biography
2013-14: Alex Andrechuk swam a career-best 17:49.70 in the 1650 Freestyle at the ninth annual SCAD College Invitational in Savannah, Ga. Dec. 5. She opened her senior season with a personal-best 10:59.37 in the 1000 Freestyle at the Quad Meet in Charlotte (
WU Swim top time report).
2012-13: Andrechuk recorded the fifth-best 500 Freestyle swim in Wingate’s swimming history. Andrechuk swam an amazing 5:05.87 at the 15th annual Bluegrass Mountain Conference Swimming Championships. On the same day, she also swam a 4:31.35 400 IM; good for the second best time for Wingate in this category. She was All-BMC in the 400 IM and the 200 Breaststroke (

2011-12: Andrechuk received All-BMC distinction in the 400 Individual Medley and the 800 Freestyle Relay. She was an honorable mention All-American in the 200 and 400 Medley Relays and the 800 Freestyle Relay.
2010-11: Andrechuk earned All-Bluegrass Mountain Conference honors in the 200 Breaststroke, the 200 and 400 Individual Medley events and the 200 and 800 Freestyle relay races. As a freshman, she held the fourth-fastest time in the 200 Freestyle and the 200 Breaststroke. Andrechuk also held the fifth-fastest time in the 200 IM and the second-fastest time in the 400 IM. In relay events, she is part of the team who held the fastest time for the 800 Freestyle Relay.
Personal: Alexandra Andrechuk earned many honors in the breast stroke and the individual medley for head coach
Matt Bell at Ajax High School. In addition to her high school accolades, Andrechuk is the club record holder in the 50 Breaststroke at the Ajax Aquatic Club. At the Senior Canadian Nationals, she earned sixth place at the age group national meet.
Andrechuk competed at the 2008 Canadian Olympic Trails. She placed third in the 200 Breaststroke at the Ontario Provincials in 2009. Andrechuk was an “A” Finalist at the Western Canadian Championships. She was one of eight Ajax Aquatic Club members to attend the 2008 Canadian Olympic Trails. Andrechuk was voted the club’s most improved swimmer in 2007. Alexandra is the daughter of
Alan and
Suzanne Andrechuk. A solid student, Andrechuk earned a French Immersion Certificate during her time at Ajax High.
