2013-14: Elissa Bates swam several Bulldog career-best times at the ninth annual SCAD College Invitational in Savannah, Ga. Dec. 5: 26.89 (50 Freestyle), 1:01.13 (100 Freestyle), 30.80 (50 Backstroke), 1:03.81 (100 Backstroke) and 2:16.79 (200 Backstroke). Bates swam at the Quad Meet in Charlotte with the following times: 31.29 (50 Backstroke), 1:06.07 (100 Backstroke) and 2:18.60 (200 Backstroke).
 
At the Queens vs. Wingate meet in Charlotte Nov. 6, Bates had the following times: 26.96 (50 Freestyle) and 1:01.21 (100 Freestyle). She opened her Bulldog career at the 2013 All-N.C. Invitational in Greensboro Oct. 4, with the following times: 27.84 (50 Freestyle) and 1:06.31 (100 Backstroke) (WU Swim top time report).

Personal: Elissa Bates hails from Tulsa, Okla. She is the daughter of David and Michelle Bates. Bates is a transfer from Oral Roberts University. She attended PA Charter High School. Her top three events and times are 100 Back (1:04.27), 200 Back (2:17.98) and 50 Free (26.12). When Bates is not swimming, she loves to spend time with her friends and do outdoor activities such as climbing, scuba diving and hiking.
