Biography
2015-16: Jessika Weiss participated in two national championship swims at the 2016 NCAA Division II national championship meet, helping the Bulldogs earn a school-record second place team finish. Weiss swam the second leg on both the 200 Medley Relay (1:39.90) and the 400 Medley Relay (3:40.28) quartet, helping Wingate set NCAA Division II records in both events. In the 2016 Bluegrass Mountain Conference meet, Weiss touched first in the 200 Breaststroke with a time of 2:15.90. She was All-BMC in four events (both breaststroke swims and two relays). At the aforementioned NCAA meet, Weiss swam career-best times in both the 100 (1:02.53) and the 200 Breaststroke (2:15.45).
2014-15: Weiss helped lead the WU women’s team in the Breaststroke events during the 2014-15 season. On the BMC level, she made the top eight in each of her individual events. Weiss was second in the BMC 100 Breaststroke, posting a time of 1:03.27. In addition, she was sixth in both the 200 Breaststroke (2:19.30) and the 200 Individual Medley (2:07.12) at the BMC meet. The multiple All-BMC honoree competed in the NCAA DII championship meet. At the NCAAs, Weiss earned a ninth-place finish in both her breaststroke events. She swan a 2:16.38 in the 200 Breast and a 1:02.84 in the 100 Breast. An honorable mention All-American in the pool, she was named to the CSCAA Scholar All-America team for her academic work. Â
2013-14: Weiss swam the following career-best times at the ninth annual SCAD College Invitational in Savannah, Ga. Dec. 5: 1:05.26 (100 Breaststroke), 2:18.21 (200 Breaststroke) and 2:10.45 (200 Individual Medley). At the Wingate Fall Frenzy, she swam a personal best time of 2:00.66 in the 200 Freestyle. Weiss opened her collegiate career at the 2013 All-N.C. Invitational in Greensboro with the following times: 1:06.69 (100 Breaststroke), 2:23.92 (200 Breaststroke), and 2:13.83 (200 IM).
Personal: Weiss hails from Macon, Georgia. The daughter of Henry and Genoveva Weiss, she attended Mount De Sales Academy. Her top three events and times are 100 BR (1:06.83), 200 BR (2:24.50) and 200 IM (2:13.80). When Weiss is not swimming, she loves to hang out with her friends.
