Biography

2012-13: Luisa Santiesteban received All-Bluegrass Mountain Conference honors in the 100 Breaststroke (1:07.06) and the 200 Breaststroke (2:23.34) at the 15th annual BMC Swimming Championships in February. In addition, she won the BMC 400 Individual Medley “B” final (4:39.17) as the Bulldogs won the team title. Her BMC Breaststroke times place her in the Wingate swimming top 10 all-time list. She posted a 58.48 100 Freestyle time in the 2012 All-N.C. Invitational (WU Swim top time report).

2011-12: Santiesteban recorded a career-best 200 Freestyle time of 2:02.27 at the 2011 Fall Frenzy, hosted by Wingate University at the Mecklenburg County Aquatics Center (MCAC) pool in downtown Charlotte. She finished third at the November quad meet 200 Breaststroke with a time of 2:31.63.

Personal: Luisa Santiesteban won numerous state championships. She finished third at Mexico's Nationals in the 200 Breastroke and fourth in the 100 Breastroke. Santiesteban qualified for "Olimpiada Nacional" in the 200,100, 50 Breastroke along with the 200 and 400 IM. She participated in the national IM relay for 17-18 category and finished third. While in Mexico, she was a member of Britania swimming club, where her swim coach was Nicolas Torres. Santiesteban's major is Environmental Biology. Luisa is the daughter of Luis and Norma Santiesteban.
