2009: Amanda Clark appeared in 29 matches in her junior season with the Bulldogs, averaging 4.77 assists per set. She had double-digit assists in 15 matches in 2009, while notching a pair of double-doubles. Clark handed out 22 assists in her season debut against Saint Augustine’s to go along with three aces. She had 29 assists and three aces in the sweep over Mars Hill. Clark had 21 assists and 10 digs to help Wingate overcome a 2-0 deficit against Carson-Newman. Clark piled up a career-high 36 assists and 18 digs in Wingate’s 3-1 win in the SAC Tournament semifinal match against Catawba. She handed out 17 assists in the NCAA Regional victory over Tusculum.
2008: Clark appeared in 26 matches during the 2008 season. She averaged 4.12 assists per set to go along with 0.71 digs per set. She had double-digit assists in eight matches on the year, including a season-high 19 against Fayetteville State. She had 15 assists and seven digs against Queens while contributing 14 assists and four digs at UNC Pembroke.
2007: Clark played in seven games for the Bulldogs, averaging 7.14 assists and 1.57 digs per game. She had five digs in her college debut against St. Andrews. Clark racked up 23 assists in a 3-0 win over Saint Augustine’s. She followed that with 11 assists in a 3-0 win over Queens.
High School: Clark led her team to the North Carolina 4A state championship in November. Prior to the State Finals, Clark was involved in a serious car accident, sustaining numerous injuries.
Clark put forth a courageous effort and led her team to the title over three-time defending state champion Providence HS. For her efforts, Clark was voted MVP of the state tournament. Along with current Wingate freshman Brittany Horner, she led Person to a runner-up finish at the 2005 state tournament. A highly skilled setter, Clark has set for the N.C. Challengers volleyball club. She was a USAV All-Region Selection, leading the N.C. Challengers team to a second-place finish in the Carolina Region.
Coach Collier: “In several very important matches last year, Amanda came in and led us to significant victories in what certainly looked like matches we were well on our way to losing. We expect her to be a very valuable leader in an expanded role in our 6-2 offense this season.”
