To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better; whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded!" - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Why Anne chose Wingate:
"When I stepped on campus, I felt like I had found the perfect place. Everything is so pretty and everyone I met was extremely welcoming and went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. I got to meet a few of the professors on my visit, all of them were very informative and it was easy to see they loved their job. Along with a great school, there is such an awesome environment in the gym in terms of training and competing. The team has such a great chemistry, which is easy to see translated on the court (and in their history of winning). Also, after hearing many other coaches talk about how much respect Coach Collier has for his knowledge of the game and coaching ability, the choice to come to Wingate was easy."

Collier:
"Coming off a successful freshman campaign last year, Anne has developed some additional strength and power in her game, and we will certainly be relying on her to play a much more important role as our opposite in our offense this season. We are looking forward to her beng a primary attacker for us in many matches this season as a sophomore."
