Biography
2007: Ashley Craven appeared in 40 games for the Bulldogs, averaging 2.03 kills and .43 blocks per game. She had a pair of seven-kill matches against Pfeiffer and Queens on August 25, helping Wingate to 3-0 victories. Craven racked up nine kills with a .571 hitting percentage in Wingate’s win over Saint Augustine’s. She had eight matches during the season with at least six kills.
2006: Ashley Craven played in 61 games and notched 34 kills and 16 digs in her second season in the blue-and-gold. She also acted as a serving specialist, averaging 0.31 service aces and 0.56 kills per game. Craven received the Coaches Award this past fall for her constant work ethic.
2005: Craven played in 12 matches for Wingate as a true freshman. She tallied nine kills and seven blocks.
High School: Craven was a driving force behind the success of the Pinecrest High School Team that finished third in the state for coach Barbara Fox. As a senior captain, Craven was All-Conference and All-Region. She followed her high school season as an outstanding player with the FAVA (Fayetteville Area) club team. Craven was a member of the National Honor Society in high school. Ashley is the daughter of Stephen and Michelle Craven.
Coach Collier: “For the last three seasons, Ashley has been one of our most well-conditioned athletes and one of our most consistent, hard working players. She has been a valuable asset as a strong practice player as well as in a reserve role at the middle hitter position.”
