Biography

2010: Janice Ehorn averaged 1.34 kills per set during her junior season, adding 46 digs and 26 blocks. She had six kills, three digs and two blocks in the season opening win over Lees-McRae. Ehorn had eight kills, four digs, two blocks and a .381 hitting percentage at Mars Hill. She had a season-best nine kills and seven digs against Francis Marion, while hitting .348. Ehorn had seven kills and two blocks in the victory at Lenoir-Rhyne.

2009: Ehorn appeared in 30 matches during her sophomore season at Wingate, averaging 1.50 kills per set. She had a career-high 14 kills with a .545 hitting percentage in Wingate’s 3-0 win over Elizabeth City State. She had eight kills, two digs and two blocks in the 3-0 win over Saint Augustine’s. Ehorn had six kills and three blocks in the five-set win at Lincoln Memorial. She had nine kills in the SAC championship match against Carson-Newman, while notching five kills, three digs and three blocks against Tusculum in the NCAA Regionals.

2008: Ehorn was fifth on the team with 2.17 kills per set in her freshman year with the Bulldogs. She had nine kills in her collegiate debut against Fayetteville State. Ehorn had 11 kills, three digs and three aces against Queens (N.C.) while hitting .385. She had eight kills and six digs at Mars Hill while racking up 12 kills with a .370 hitting percentage in a 3-2 win over Lincoln Memorial. Ehorn had nine kills in the Southeast Regional win over Anderson.

Ehorn was a three-time all-state performer and two time team MVP of at Amity High School. In her sophomore season, Ehorn was selected as one of 40 players nationally for the USA A2 program that trained and competed in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. She was named the 2007-08 Connecticut Gatorade Player of the Year, while also being named conference MVP. In her senior season, she posted an impressive .404 hitting percentage while leading Amity with 302 kills, on their way to an 18-1 record. In addition, she was selected to play in the Connecticut High School Coaches Association/Coca Cola Volleyball All-Star Game. Ehorn has also participated in the USA Volleyball Junior Olympic program for the past three years. Janice is the sister of former Wingate volleyball player Marcia Ehorn.

Coach Collier: “In her first three seasons, Janice has rarely been in our starting lineup, but has on many occasions entered crucial matches and been a key factor in turning what would likely have been a loss into a win. She will be recovering from major offseason shoulder surgery, and we are hoping she will be in a position to play better than ever in her senior season.”
