Wingate University Athletics

Jenny O’Brien is transferring to Wingate after spending a year at Division I George Washington. She will enter Wingate with three seasons of eligibility. As a standout player at Charlotte Latin, she led the Hawks to four consecutive state championships, recording 405 kills in her senior season. She was selected as an AVCA high school senior All-American, one of only 32 players in the country to receive the honor. In addition to her successful high school career, O’Brien was the top hitter on the Carolina Junior Volleyball Club, a top Junior Olympic club in the Charlotte area. O’Brien was contacted by a number of schools nationwide when she announced she would transfer.

Coach Collier: “We are thrilled that Jenny has decided to join our program. She was highly recruited by a number of Division I schools out of high school, and will certainly be an impact player on our team right away.
